Frequently asked questions
Do you offer in person or teletherapy?
Yes, I offer both. I have an office nestled in the northwest corner of Old Town Fort Collins within the Healing Gardens. The space is peaceful and creates an atmosphere where you can relax and feel the nurturing energy that surrounds you. For clients across Colorado, I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to conduct therapy sessions. You will need to be in a private location that protects your confidentiality.
Why individual therapy?
Our true feelings can be messy, sometimes confusing, and leave us feeling vulnerable. Too often we do our best to hide them from others — even from ourselves. Therapy can be immensely helpful in exploring, understanding, and changing patterns that keep us from the life we want. If you question whether you are living the full width of your life, I hope you will consider reaching out. Your future self will be grateful.
Why couples therapy?
We enter into relationships hoping they will be a source of deep comfort, care, and connection. Sometimes though, even with the best intentions and efforts, we can find our closest relationships contributing to our feelings of distress and aloneness. Couples counseling has the potential to help reshape your primary relationship as a secure base in which you feel your partner is available, responsive, and engaged.
How long are sessions?
Sessions can be designed to meet your unique needs and circumstances. Whether it’s a weekly 50 or 75 minute session, or longer more intensive sessions, we will work together to create a schedule that works best for you.
Do you accept insurance?
I am considered an out-of-network provider and can provide you with a special kind of receipt, called a superbill, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Your reimbursement will depend on your insurance provider and plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider for more information.
What if I need to reschedule?
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule a session, please let me know at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid being charged for the missed session. I will work with you to reschedule your appointment if I can whether or not you provide 24-hours’ notice.
